Hello and welcome to the 2023 Sock Knitter’s Almanach, February edition.
For the new kids on the block, the Sock Knitter’s Almanac is Tricot & Stitch’s monthly colorway creation, which started in January 2021. Each month I’m creating a new colorway. Three-month subscriptions are now available in the shop!
This month I felt like dyeing a riot of colours that would also have a strong feel good vibe. Yep, that’s close to text book definition of the eighties, right? At least in my personal dictionnary, it is! Also, I’ve been quite impressed & inspired recently by an instragram account, @dreamkid83. If you love synthwave with a strong 80’s vibes, check them out! I had a lot of fun dyeing this colorway, that I named “1983”. Neons & intense colours on a smoky base, with lots of speckles. The contrasting color this month could not be other that a gorgeous, iconic neon yellow with just a dash of speckles, “Tennis Ball”.

No sock pattern suggestion this month? I’ve had this crazy and quite ambitious idea of designing a sock pattern each month this year. I’ll share the process, the ups and the downs in the podcast.
